The third seasonal weekend of MINI Challengeon stage on the track of Vallelungagoes to the archives with the brace scored by the team Della Pia Engineeringwhich celebrated the first and second place of Andrea Bristot it’s at Matteo Martinelli.

It was instead who climbed onto the lowest step of the podium Edoardo Maccariauthor of an excellent performance at the wheel of a John Cooper Works EVO by Tuder Motorsports.

A race full of emotions and twists even before the traffic lights went out, with the two cars in the front row ending up under the spotlight. Starting from that of Federico Desiderio (E20 Motorsport Project), forced to leave the grid, where he occupied second place, due to a technical problem with the braking system. After a few moments, Martinelli, from first place, was also forced to return to the pits and then queue up at the back of the grid once the race started, this time under the safety car.

As the green flag waved, the action was concentrated in the rear with the comeback of the star Bristot, who started from behind due to a difficult qualifying, in which he was unable to set his fastest lap. The standard bearer of the Della Pia Engineering team, followed closely by his teammate Martinelli, managed to get back on top after a few corners, grabbing fifth and sixth positions respectively. The leading group in the meantime was made up of Edoardo Maccari, Andrea Palazzo (AC Racing Technology)followed in turn by the two standard bearers of the Progetto E20 Motorsport team, Alessio Campoli And Giovanni Tagliente, subsequently passed on by Bristot and Martinelli. The duel in the Academy was equally heated, where a contact triggered by Thomas Baldassarriwhich he caught in a moment of brawl with Alessandro Boniniput the guilty party out of action Paolo Calcagnohit by Baldassarri’s car which forced him to retire.

A maneuver that saw the entry of the safety car and the group become compact again. At the restart Bristot and Martinelli managed to grab second and third place, with Maccari subsequently being overtaken at Soratte and then at Tornantino by the two drivers of the team led by Ermes della Pia, who was thus able to celebrate his third double of the season. At the foot of the podium Palazzo ended the hostilities, followed by Campoli and Tagliente, fifth and sixth. Yet another success in the group dedicated to Lite cars for Giacomo Marchiorowho also holds the lead in the classification of this group, followed on the podium by Bagnasco and Bonini.

The MINI Challenge will return to action on the weekend of 24 and 25 August on the route of Mugello on the occasion of the fourth double event of the year, where the current series leader Bristot (118 points) will once again appear as the driver to beat, thanks to his four seasonal victories.
