ANCONA An obstacle race, a fight against time. More and more difficult with the hope of at least signing up for Serie D which is receding day after day in an endless drip that is driving an annihilated and nauseated fanbase to desperation.
On the one hand, Daniele Silvetti’s determination to limit the damage of the unfortunate corporate default of June 4th. On the other hand, there are the obstacles that make the path to achieving an objective that it is already an understatement to define as complicated extremely difficult. Tony Tiong’s extremely ambiguous behavior certainly doesn’t help him. At the moment there is silence across the board from the Malaysian.
Tiong’s silence
Mayor Silvetti himself confirms that he has not received any communication from Tiong or his lawyer Stefano Giangrande. «To date I have no official news either from Tiong or from his lawyer. Yesterday the municipal offices were closed but I repeat that I have not had any indication or contact regarding a possible meeting.” This is how Silvetti expressed himself with evident disappointment, however determined to continue his efforts to save what could be saved.
“If I don’t get anything from Tiong, I’ll continue on my path from tomorrow.” That is, plan B represented by the establishment of a new company to go through the process of the art. 52 of the Noif. Tiong’s behavior remains once again indecipherable and more ambiguous than ever. The proclamations launched a week ago with the press release distributed through the Giangrande law firm have not been followed by any concrete activity. After having claimed the “huge investments made in the club” Tiong committed to adopting “all possible initiatives useful to pursue the best interest of the community and of the fans themselves” promising to “intervene personally at the institutional offices and in the public debate also to protect my honor and my work”.
Tiong also assured that he would accept the mayor’s summons and that he would like to meet him in person “when I am in Italy in person to try to best manage the situation that has unfortunately arisen, and against all my intentions and wishes”. To date, this flurry of words has not been followed by deeds. The Giangrande law firm itself, which should be his voice in Italy, remained silent, declining any invitation to discuss it with the media. Other than the announced “interviews with the press”. Tiong’s dilatory behavior thus far increases the difficulties for Silvetti who has set June 18 as the deadline to obtain clarity from the Malaysian on figures, data and intentions relating to US Ancona.
Tight deadlines
The mayor is working hard on a plan B that allows us to proceed in parallel with the events of US Ancona. He has already had several contacts with local and outside entrepreneurs. It is precisely from the latter that expressions of interest have emerged which seem to have concrete bases. In the new corporate structure that should support the request for registration in series D according to the art. 52 of the NOIFs would also include two local entrepreneurs. In the meantime, Silvetti has moved effectively both with the sports minister Andrea Abodi, with whom he boasts excellent relations, and with the president of the LND Giancarlo Abete.
