MARINA DI MASSA – Vandals in action in Marina di Massa. A resident of the Via Zolezzi area reported the incident: «This night around 3.30 – wrote to the Apuan voice – a North African immigrant kicked various cars (mirrors broken) and motorbikes (thrown to the ground) in the square in via Zolezzi in front of Banca Intesa. Some citizens, hearing the screams, called the police forces who intervened but he had now disappeared. The area – says the resident – has been frequented for months by groups of North African immigrants who stay in the portico of the ‘Il Tirreno’ condominium on the sea side and are dedicated to drug dealing, make noise until late in the evening, leave all kinds of dirt, threaten residents, carry out acts of vandalism.”
«Recently – he continues – some North Africans have rented a property in the aforementioned condominium and are doing some internal work. One wonders why the unseemly tents shown in the photo (one of those attached to the letter, ed.) were put up so as not to show what is happening inside. The area in general is abandoned: in the square in front of the bank parking is wild, maintenance and cleaning are not carried out; a few years ago the street lamp fell and then the tree in the center of it and they have never been restored.
In via Zolezzi between via Zini and via Mazzini there has been a large hole for about a month which has been cordoned off but has not yet been repaired. I ask this editorial team to be the spokesperson for the concerns and discomfort that the residents of this area are experiencing towards the municipal administration and the prefect”.
