SASSARI | June 16, 2024. Starting on Friday 21 June in Sassari Festival of Beauties 2024the musical festival ofNova Euphonia Vocal Together Associationconceived by Maestro Vincenzo Cossu in 2018. A seventh edition that will be characterized by a profound identity imprint, not only for the symbolic places which, like every year, will act as the stage for the artists’ performances, but also for the choice to give space for some of the musicians who have most represented the island in Italy and in the world: the female choirs Gavoi Euphony And Intrempas of Oroseias well as i Bitti’s Tenores, fresh from the recent success of Sanremo in collaboration with Mahmood. Fabrizio de André will also be remembered, 25 years after his death. To pay homage to the great Genoese singer-songwriter, in love with our land to the point of defining it as a paradise and choosing it as his home, the Festival will host the tribute band of Creuza de ma.
The first event is on the calendar Friday, at 7pmon the terrace of Tavolara Pavilionin the public gardens of Sassari, for the Music Festivalwith the concert by the Nova Euphonia Vocal Ensemble and the City of Sassari Student Choir.
For the third consecutive year the exhibition is included in the program Salude&Trigu of the Sassari Chamber of Commerce, which aims to bring together the main events of Northern Sardinia with the aim of promoting the territory in the cultural and tourist fields. It will also benefit from the patronage of numerous municipalities in the exhibition network: Cargeghe, Torralba, Olmedo, Ittiri, Sorso, Valledoria, Sassari, Stintino, Nughedu San Nicolò And Plagues. For the 2024 edition, new municipalities have been added such as Porto Torres. with a spectacular concert at the basilica of San Gavino scheduled for October.
The seventh edition of the Festival of Beauty was presented in recent days in the council room of the Chamber of Commerce in via Roma in Sassari. The artistic director of the event spoke Vincenzo Cossufor the Chamber of Commerce Antonella Vigliettirepresentative of the Salude&Trigu program, and the administrators of some of the municipalities involved: the mayor of Cargeghe, Antonio Ruiutogether with the deputy mayor Giuseppe Ruiu, Gian Simona TortuCouncilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Porto Torres, e Valentina Manca, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Torralba. The press conference opened with a short musical greeting: Walter Masalapianist and master accompanist of Nova Euphonia, performed songs taken from famous soundtracks.
«The Festival has been part of the Salude&Trigu network for three years and is among the first-rate events that most give prestige to the program, having national and international value», he said Antonella Viglietti.
The artistic director himself explained the objectives of the Festival of Beauty, Vincenzo Cossu. «We are convinced that some treasures are found under the house. This led us to turn the spotlight on music and its connection with the territory – he declared -. This year we will return to Porto Torres after a few years of absence and we will also go to Gallura. There will be twenty events in total, including the previews that we have already organized in April and May. We live in symbiosis with the municipalities, to which we are grateful, and it is a vital aspect for us. The calendar. This is the program until December, including absolute novelties and welcome returns and the participation of choristers, soloists and instrumentalists of theNova Euphonia Vocal Ensemble and the City of Sassari Student Choirdirected, as always, by Maestro Vincenzo Cossu. With the warning that some stages (for now there are 17, almost all with free admission) are susceptible to changes and others could be added.
The second event of the Festival will be Saturday 29 June at 9.30 pm in Largo Cala d’Oliva a Stintinoguest on Eufonia Choir of Gavoi. Saturday 6 Julyat 7pm, we return again this year to Olmedoin Monte Baranta, together with Intrempas female choir of Orosei. Then Saturday 13 July at the amphitheater of the Santaclara hotel in Palau, Wednesday 17 July concert at the S’Abbadorzu fountain in Ittiri with guests i Creuza de mto, Sunday 21 July at the Imbarcadero, on the mouth of the Coghinas, a Valledoriaguests i Bitti’s Tenores, Friday 26 July concert at the Santu Antine nuraghe of Torralbaguest on Eufonia Choir of GavoiAnd Wednesday 31 Julyin the cloister of the church of Santa Maria di Betlem a Sassari with the seventh edition of Voices for the Candlesticks.
After the August break we resume September 2 with the ninth stage a Plagues, in the churchyard of San Pietro, hosts the Tenores di Bitti. Concerts will follow on September 7 in the churchyard of the church of Santa Maria ‘e contra a Cargeghe, Friday 13 September to the Billellera fountain a Sip with guests i Creuza de ma, Saturday 28 September in Piazza San Sebastiano a Nughedu San Nicolò. Previews and news for 2024. A seventh edition characterized by a wide series of previews: on 13 April the Festival stopped for the first time in the church of San Michele di Plaiano with an unprecedented concert of sacred music; on April 26th for the second consecutive year it guaranteed an aperitif concert at the Monte Istulargiu farmhouse in Valledoria; and finally, he was able to hold his first show in a natural park, last May 25th, at sunset, on the Tramariglio beach in the Porto Conte park.
Another great innovation of the seventh edition is the extension of the event until the Christmas season, with the new edition of Cine-concert and the Great Christmas concert, organized in collaboration with the Maria Carta Foundation and dedicated as every year to Emergency. Also scheduled to return after five years to the spectacular context of the Torralba cinema café, as written above, in December, with a cinema music show.
The Green partnership with Grimaldi Lines is renewed. Journalist Manuela Muzzu will return to hosting for the third consecutive year. The media partnerships with Sardinian Life and Tinxy were also confirmed.
The Festival of Beauty. It was born in 2018 and over the years it has hosted artists such as Gavino Murgia, Franca Masu, the Tazenda, the Tenores di Bitti, Ilaria Porceddu, Piero Marras, the Tenores di Neoneli, the Bertas and many others. The event has built a network of collaborations between some of the most dynamic realities of the island’s cultural panorama, having as its protagonists not only musicians but also dancers, actors, writers, performers, exponents of the world of figurative arts and craftsmanship. One of the aims of the event is to contribute to giving a boost to the local economy both through the involvement of local workers in the staging of events and through partnership agreements with hoteliers, restaurateurs, merchants and artisans in the area with the aim of attracting the local public and to intercept the tourist flow present on our island during the Festival period.
