The program of the thirtieth Italian edition of the Music Festival 2024 was officially presented at the Spadolini Room of the Ministry of Culture, scheduled for 21 June 2024. Present at the press conference: the national coordinator of the Music Festival, Paolo Masini; the president of the AIPFM, Marco Staccioli; the Undersecretary of Culture, Gianmarco Mazzi; the communications manager of the representation in Italy of the European Commission, Massimo Pronio and the Director of the Youth Policies Department representing the Minister Andrea Abodi, Michele Sciscioli. Among the speakers also the deputy director of the Arturo Toscanini Conservatory, Mariangela Longo, who presented the entire program of the Conservatory and the teacher of the Gioacchino Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro, Mauro Campobasso. “On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Italian Music Festival and in anticipation of Agrigento being the Italian Capital of Culture 2025, declares deputy director Longo, the Arturo Toscanini Conservatory of Ribera, already the official partner of the special event which is celebrated in Italy every year on 21 June and throughout Europe, is preparing to organize important events from 19 to 22 June which will involve 400 musicians in four different cities with the patronage of the Italian Representation of the European Commission, Ministry of Culture, Department of Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service, Italian Association Music Festival (AIPFM) which coordinates all the events at national level, Sicilian Region Cultural Heritage Department and the Institutions and Theaters involved in the host cities of Ribera (AG), Pesaro, Sambuca di Sicilia (AG) and Cinisi (PA). Furthermore, in Pesaro, the Italian Capital of Culture, a great concert will be staged for the 100th anniversary of Henry Mancini. The young people of the “Gioacchino Rossini” Conservatory of Pesaro will perform in an orchestral concert, organized with the Pesaro Film Festival, dedicated to the unforgettable soundtracks of the Italian-American author, and the concert will also see the participation of students and teachers of the Conservatory ” Arturo Toscanini” of Ribera-Agrigento, creating an ideal passing of the baton between Pesaro and Agrigento, Italian Capitals of Culture 2024 and 2025”.

On June 19th the Cathedral square of Ribera will be transformed into an open-air stage where the Concert for Soloists, Choir, Symphonic Orchestra of the Arturo Toscanini Conservatory and 15 Musical Bands organized by the Toscanini Conservatory with the patronage of the Municipality of Ribera will take place.

The mega event will feature over 300 musicians who, under the orchestral direction of Maestro Alberto Maniaci and the co-direction of 15 Masters of the Musical Bands, will perform three anthems (Italian anthem, European anthem, anthem of the Sicilian Region) and will pay homage to Italian opera, a world heritage site, with music by Puccini, Verdi, Bellini. A one-of-a-kind event characterized by maximum sharing and the inclusion of different ensembles in a single orchestral team, perfectly suited to the theme chosen by the Italian Music Festival for the celebrations of its 30th anniversary. Event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Italian-American composer Henry Mancini, winner of 4 Oscars for film music, numerous Grammys, countless nominations and who went down in history for his vast musical production. The concert is organized by the G. Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro in collaboration with the A. Toscanini Conservatory of Ribera as part of the 60th International Exhibition of New Cinema and the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of FdM, and will give the opportunity for the passage of witness among the Conservatories of the Italian Capital Cities of Culture Pesaro 2024 and Agrigento 2025, in the presence of the respective authorities. The protagonists will be the musicians of the Rhythmic-Symphonic Orchestra of the G. Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro and of the Jazz Department of the A. Toscanini Conservatory of Ribera.

In Pesaro, Ernesto Marciante, professor of jazz singing, and the students Alessandro Lo Chiano (trumpet), Giovanni Sferrazza (saxophone) from the department of new languages ​​and musical technologies of the Conservatory will participate as soloists for the Toscanini Conservatory.

21 June at 7.00 pm – Teatro l’Idea of ​​Sambuca di Sicilia – Musical Review “Maurizio Pollini” – In collaboration with the Teatro l’Idea and with the Municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia, Borgo dei Borghi 2016, the Toscanini Conservatory organizes a review dedicated to piano literature and chamber music with piano. Thanks to the virtuous collaboration initiated between the institutions, the new piano made available by the Conservatory will be inaugurated by some of the young talents of the Piano Schools and Chamber Music Schools, with a special dedication to the great Italian pianist Maurizio Pollini who recently passed away .
