Borghi hard on the Zirkzee (Lapresse) SpazioMilan deal
The Swedish striker remains the main target for Milan. The journalist’s words on Zirkzee make fans reflect.
He is currently busy with his Netherlands at Euro2024 although Koeman only sent him to the bench for his debut against Poland, but the Joshua Zirkzee topic remains a priority at Milan. The Bologna player is the Rossoneri club’s number one objective to strengthen the attack and thus find the heir of Olivier Giroud, now a former Rossoneri player.
Milan has long since reached an agreement with both the player and Bologna, or rather the Bologna club cannot oppose it given that Zirkzee has a 40 million euro release clause. The real problem at Milan is called Kia Joorabchian: we are talking about the player’s well-known agent, an agent who – according to some rumours – it would have required as much as 15 million euros in commissions.
Very high figures, calculating the 40 million for the price tag and the company would have slowed down the negotiations, at the moment everyone would be making the appropriate assessments. Zirkzee like it, but the commissions are very high and everyone is thinking: DAZN journalist Stefano Borghi spoke during the podcast on Cronache di Spogliatoio and took stock of the story. There is concern among fans that the deal may not go through but Borghi appeared rather decisive with important statements.

During the podcast Borghi firstly underlines: “The commission that Zirkzee’s attorney is asking for is not illegal. The rules allow it and the rules are the trace, everything that is happening is perfectly legal.” But then the journalist continues: “Questions of principle in football and in life have an important value, I give great importance to ethics and if we feel so scandalized by this thing perhaps we should intervene on the rules before talking about values.”
Finally, applause and a warning regarding Milan’s choices on the next transfer market, in particular on the Zirkzee affair: “If Milan or whoever for Milan makes a choice and decides that ‘I’m not taking this player because I don’t think it’s right to pay this commission’, well I’m sure he would have my respect.”
In short, a clear point of view and Borghi clarifies his thoughts on an issue that is creating a lot of discussion these days. The Milan club awaits news and hopes to close the Zirkzee discussion anyway, obviously at lower figures in terms of commissions.
