Another week has gone by, but the same questions gravitate on the benches of Eccellenza. While the market goes crazy, the last doubts relating to the technical guidance of the clubs that will meet for the usual pre-season in a couple of months remain unresolved. Missing from the hypothetical grouping for the 2024/25 season would be FC Milanese, Mariano Calcio and Legnano, which unlike the first two is in a situation of total chaos. The reason? The seizure of Enea Benedetto’s shares by the GIP of Alessandria, with the consequent reaction of the president himself, who does not give up and even hopes for a repechage in D.
Among the teams that without a shadow of a doubt we will find on the starting grids of Group A of Eccellenza is the Saronno of the new coach Marco Varaldi, who moved to the Biancoceleste after two years of strong emotions in Seveso.
“Leaving the Base was not easy – says the coach – because in these two wonderful years we have built deep human relationships and achieved important results. Let’s say that it was a choice dictated mainly by wanting to try my hand at cwith more ambitious goals. Both in sport and in work, staying in the comfort zone can sometimes be a limit, so I decided in this sense with a view to a path of personal growth that will be cultivated day after day.”
Acting as a springboard, the path traveled with a team that, having been newly promoted to Eccellenza, proved to be a real surprise, even for the big teams. “A was made with the Base championship impressive and honestly, even before receiving the call that brought me here, I had the feeling that Saronno and I would start a journey together. To confirm the club’s intentions, some very hot names are cooking in these weeks of the transfer market, although no official announcement has yet been received from the club. “Saronno starts from a good base which, apart from some slight differences in terms of play, had a very similar imprint to my idea of football, that is, keeping possession of the ball and raising the center of gravity to try to control the match – explains the technician –. It is an aspect that we will certainly confirm for next season too, with the aim of competing for top positions. Having the fortune of being able to build the team from the beginning, rather than taking it as it progresses, together with the management I will be able to orient myself towards players with the right characteristics to develop the type of game I have in mind, which in turn will clearly have to be adapted to the peculiarities of each resource available”.
