FOLIGNO (Perugia) – The agreement exists and was signed on the morning of Sunday 16 June. Moreno Finamonti and La Voce di Foligno have chosen. In the run-off, with the 3.65% they won in the first round, they will run alongside the centre-left candidate, Mauro Masciotti. It won’t be a quick pact but a real one. The decision came a few hours after the endorsement of Enrico Presilla (candidate of Popular Alternative who received 6% at the polls) for the outgoing mayor and candidate of the centre-right, Stefano Zuccarini
«Regarding Mayor Zuccarini’s statement – writes Finamonti – who only now recognizes the undersigned’s affinity with his political line, when in reality he never wanted to listen to and support any of our initiatives for the city, thus demonstrating the lack of coherence and last minute opportunism always permeated by the lack of humility that distinguishes it; I believe I have to make my choice thinking exclusively of the good of our community.”
The former regional councilor continues: «On the one hand I see a mayor who is aiming exclusively at his second and final mandate and having verified the inadequacy of his actions in these five years, I am convinced that he will do nothing for Foligno other than the usual partisan interests in certainty that in any case he will have to leave at the end. On the other hand, however, there is a heterogeneous center-left, with a strong moderate area where several people already experienced in administration stand out and with whom I believe I am more similar who, having learned the lessons of 2019, will certainly work to provide continuity to his administration, knowing that otherwise the voters will be able to “send them home” after five years.”
Finamonti says again: «After a pleasant conversation with the candidate Masciotti who reached me personally, we parted with the promise to make a difference and therefore to choose the team only for competence and ability, the sine qua non of my support, that which clearly did not happen during the Zuccarini administration. I therefore invite my voters to make these important considerations by supporting the only party that can serve their interests. In the event of victory, we will be there to guarantee that what we promised is achieved, always fighting to safeguard the now collapsing local public health system, the main reason for our entry into the field.”
