For the Perugia ballot, Massimo Monni has no resemblance or indication of vote. The decision was made official on Sunday morning, after a summit with the council candidates who supported him, collecting a total of 1.4 percent, or 1,168 votes, too few to wave the moderate flag at Palazzo dei Priori. Monni, however, who was the candidate for mayor of the centre, in the next few hours will openly say who will vote in the Perugia run-off between Margherita Scoccia and Vittoria Ferdinandi and “will take stock of Perugia Merita’s political project”.

Monni: «We will vote according to conscience» Meanwhile, he explains that he «met twice each» with both Scoccia and Ferdinandi for a «discussion on our ideas and points of contact». Monni says he “has carefully evaluated their proposals”, including that of recognizing him “the role of deputy mayor” in the event of victory in the Perugia run-off. Despite the offer, however, “I have chosen to leave the Perugia Merita candidates free” in view of the run-off. At the end of the summit with him, bearers of “different sensitivities”, the decision was therefore reached: “Each candidate from Perugia Merita will vote according to conscience”.

Radicals with Ferdinandi Meanwhile on Sunday morning the Radicals of Perugia will also be speaking, who will instead vote for Ferdinandi. In a press note, the secretary Michele Guaitini and the treasurer Andrea Maori say they have «appreciated Ferdinandi’s programmatic intentions aimed at making Perugia an inclusive, sustainable, open, participatory city with continuous references to Aldo Capitini» and see «in Ferdinandi politics that can create a synthesis with a broad vision, capable of relaunching the city in a European dimension”. The Radicals will not support Scoccia, because «there is nothing left of the so-called “civic council” created in 2014 with Romizi’s victory – they claim – due to «the progressive slide towards the right as also demonstrated by the results of the first round, with the almost total disappearance of the councilors of the more moderate part of the coalition”.
