The African anticyclone is ready to trigger a new and intense heat wave towards central-southern Italy which will also involve Tuscany in the next few days. The weather will remain essentially stable during the week, with clear skies occasionally clouded by some thin clouds starting from Wednesday. Temperatures will increase day after day and will reach increasingly higher values, with the peak of the heat expected between Thursday and Friday when the weather gets hot. At night the minimum temperatures will not fall below 21/23°C, during the day the maximum values can locally reach 40°C in the plains, a little cooler instead along the coast, mitigated by the sea surface. In particular, peaks of 39°C are expected next Thursday in Florence and Pisa, 40°C in Arezzo between Thursday and Friday, and in Livorno no more than 33°C on Thursday. By next weekend this intense African heat wave could finally stop, due to the entry of cooler currents from the northern quadrants which would significantly reduce temperatures.
