Today second and last day of “The Way of Taste”, the food and wine event inaugurated yesterday evening, in Via della Torre Clementina, at 7 pm, by the First Citizen, Mario Baccini. Also cutting the ribbon were the Councilor for Productive Activities, Raffaello Biselli and the Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Federica Poggio.

“With these events we wanted to highlight the value of a city that is not resigned to being just an airport,” declared the Mayor during his speech. “Fiumicino count orover 84,000 inhabitants, it extends over more than 200 km² and boasts 24 km of coastline, as well as natural and archaeological beauties among the most important in Italy.
Today we want to enhance one of the pillars of our municipality: food and wine. The culinary excellences present, not only then Via Torre Clementina but in all localities of the territory, from north to south, they represent a significant heritage; a tangible sign of how much our city can contribute to the culture of Lazio and the entire country.
In the next few days the summer program will be presented, full of initiatives aimed at promoting local productive activities, with the aim of increasing the economic GDP but above all the cultural and traditional one. For us, Fiumicino is not “just” a big city but a continually evolving project and we wish to fully develop all its potential. We therefore invite residents and tourists to discover and experience our territory, rich in history and culture,” concluded the Mayor.

“We started working for this event months ago and, thanks to the commitment of the Administration and the collaboration with the organizing associations, today we can live a unique sensorial experience in one of the best cities in Lazio for food and wine. I hope that this is only the first of many events and that it can be repeated, given the great success recorded already in the first hours.” underlined Councilor Biselli.

“Occasions like this are good for tourism and the economy and we will always support all the associations that wish to promote the area and its excellence. Our commitment is aimed at ensuring that Fiumicino becomes a privileged destination for tourists and a place of pride for residents.”
he concluded Councilor Federica Poggio.
