Ex Farmografica, summit in Bologna on Tuesday

Negotiations to guarantee a future for the former Farmografica and its workers are still at a standstill. The institutional table for managing the company’s crisis has been convened for Tuesday in Bologna, at the regional headquarters. In conjunction with the appointment, called by the Councilor for Economic Development and Labour, Vincenzo Colla, in agreement with the prefect of Ravenna, Castrese De Rosa, a demonstration was called by the territorial trade unions of CGIL, CISL and UIL which , starting from 10am, will anticipate and accompany the discussion which will have to shed light on the fate of the historic pharmaceutical packaging company.

“The workers welcomed the news of the

new setback in negotiations for the company acquisition by the Focaccia group. One year after the flood that took away the jobs, after months of battles and negotiations, after proclamations, promises and declarations of intent, and with the redundancy fund still missing, someone will have to explain what is preventing to archive this ugly story. It’s a time for responsibility: everyone should do their part.”

Thus Saverio Monno of Slc Cgil Ravenna, Stefano Gregnanin of Fistel Cisl Romagna and Ryan Paganelli of Uilcom Uil Ravenna, at the end of the last union meeting at the MM Packaging Italy Srl plant in Cervia.

In the square, alongside the trade unions, RSU and a delegation of workers on business trips, there will also be the President of the Province of Ravenna Michele de Pascale, the newly elected mayor of Cervia, Mattia Missiroli, and the former municipal councilor Michela Brunelli , re-elected to the city council. “We don’t even want to take into consideration the hypothesis of a closure – they declare – the battle for the reopening of Farmografica is a battle for Cervia, the people of Cervia and the entire Romagna without exception”.

Again: “We have been and will be alongside these workers, alongside these 87 families, with the idea of expressing both personal and institutional solidarity, made up of gestures and concrete practices even before words. our institutions, as they have done so far, will continue to do their part, participating in every discussion table and in every initiative, committing themselves to reaching a solution to this crisis as soon as possible”. Also in the note from the municipal administration we read that “the negotiations between companies may be at a standstill, but the place is in turmoil: Farmografica must have a future, one way or another”. On Tuesday it will be understood whether the dialogue between the owners and the Focaccia group will continue and, if so, under what terms.
