The twenty-seventh edition of the Tende al Mare is dedicated to the Tour de France. The original and unique exhibition set up on the tents where bathers found shelter from the sun before the spread of umbrellas, is in fact entirely centered on the historic Cesenatico-Bologna stage scheduled for June 30th. “Grand Départ”, this is the title of the exhibition, will be inaugurated on Thursday at 8pm on the free beach in Piazza Andrea Costa. Le Tende al Mare therefore deals with the extraordinary event in the memory of Marco Pantani. The thematic choice was immediately shared by the historic partner of this event, the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna, protagonist of both the first and most recent editions. Specifically, the students painted 10 tents inspired by the protagonists of the Tour and cycling, all characterized chromatically by the bright yellow which is the color of this competition. To the ten tents created by the students of the Academy, there are another ten painted by the guests of the socio-occupational center of the La Nuova Famiglia association of Cesenatico, with the breakdown of the Grand Départ logo, with the depiction of the “icons” of the cities visited from the Italian stages. In the heart of the Cesenatico beach, a unique cultural event is proposed with an always original and topical slant, linked to the happy intuition of the Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo who inaugurated the initiative in 1998. What makes the exhibition special is the ability to make dialogue art in its varied forms with the general public, starting from a totally informal situation like that of the beach, where the works are used as free and precious shaded areas at the same time. In this event the Municipality is supported by the Cooperativa Stabilimenti Balneari di Cesenatico, which guarantees the daily raising of the tents and their surveillance every day; again thanks to the beach resorts it will also be possible to admire some tents from previous editions set up on the Ponente and Levante beaches. The event is also linked to solidarity, with the tents that will be on sale through the Volunteer Council, which will allocate the proceeds to social projects. The mayor of Cesenatico Matteo Gozzoli and the councilor Emanuela Pedulli announce the great exhibition thus: “It is an even more special edition and the artists have managed to perfectly capture the spirit of an event which will be sporting, tourist, historical and will project Cesenatico to world spotlight”.
