AVEZZANO. On Saturday 22nd June the new attractions of the dinosaur park will be revealed, on Monday 24th the installation of the new 8-lane athletics track at the Pini stadium will begin (after many delays), while on 5th July the undersecretary of the Ministry of Business and made in Italy Fausta Bergamot will intervene at the ribbon cutting of the “Vito Taccone” velodrome. This is what was decided during the last majority meeting called by the mayor of Avezzano, Gianni Di Pangrazioto take stock of the situation on the public works that «will characterize the summer period with construction sites at the starting line for over 16 million euros» and «interventions completed, or almost completed, which will soon be presented to the city».
THE WORKS TO BE CARRIED OUT
The safety measures for the Via Aquila underpass began last Wednesday thanks to ministerial funding of 1 million and 250 thousand euros. 6 months of work is expected. During the summer period, with schools closed, work will be done on the overpass, then we will proceed with the consolidation of foundations and walls. The intervention has brought about changes to the road system in the area: between closed roads and mandatory routes which, as expected, are generating inconvenience particularly in the afternoon and on weekends. The inconveniences are destined to increase given that the same intervention will also affect the underpass of via Don Minzoni-via Pagani (formerly via Albense) from 1 July, financed for 1 million and 95 thousand euros of Pnrr funds. Remaining on the subject of traffic, the construction site for the construction of the roundabout on Via XX Settembre at the entrance to the Caruscino district (225 thousand euros) will start by August to improve traffic management. What has gone down in history as the great unfinished one will also be completed: the building of the new town hall in the Pulcina district. The start of the construction site is scheduled for the first half of July. A project worth 6 million and 709 thousand euros of work (8 million of economic framework of which 5 deriving from Pnrr funds and 2.5 from municipal resources) for 6 floors and 192 workstations. Finally, among the works to be carried out, with funds from the Pnrr, are 3 school buildings: the new nursery school in via Fucino for 60 children (2 million and 640 thousand euros) and the new nursery school in via Pertini for 120 children ( 3 and a half million) will see the laying of the first stone by September, together with the Bernardo Bear nursery which will once again welcome 40 children thanks to one and a half million in funding.
THE WORKS CREATED
In the list of public works brought to the destination there are the velodrome and various fields for practicing sports.
The redevelopment of the sports facility located inside the “Rolando Appolloni” center cost 250 thousand euros. Work has also been completed for the Pala winner team, complete with a new external basketball court and a volleyball and basketball court reserved for the Vivenza and Pomilio schools. While working on the construction of the fitness area in the pine forest. Repaired games and new attractions for the Dinopark ready to open the doors of the area undergoing expansion. As for the road system, work was completed on the roundabout in via Puglie in front of the new school in the Mazzini-Fermi building – which also saw the construction of a car park – and on the 40-space parking area in via Kolbe which stands on the site of the former hospital. It will be at the service of the church, schools and public offices. Finally, in September the Municipality announces the reopening of the gardens of the Torlonia park. The complex is the subject of important works with a Masterplan loan of approximately 4 million 700 thousand euros.
