Luca Pulsinelli was 50 years old

A tragic road accident shook the community of Villetta Barrea and surrounding areas in the early evening yesterday. Luca Pulsinelli, a 50-year-old forestry carabiniere, originally from Alvito and on duty at the Villetta Barrea station, lost his life in an accident on the regional road 83 Marsicana, in the municipality of Opi. The dynamics of the accident are currently being examined by investigators. From an initial reconstruction, still awaiting further confirmation, it would appear that Pulsinelli was riding his motorcycle when, for reasons yet to be ascertained, he lost control of the vehicle, falling disastrously onto the asphalt.

The doctors from the emergency room of the Castel Di Sangro hospital intervened promptly at the scene of the accident. Despite desperate attempts to resuscitate Pulsinelli, his heart stopped beating shortly after help arrived.

The carabinieri from the Pescasseroli station also arrived on site to carry out technical investigations. The Sulmona Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered that the body be taken to L’Aquila hospital for an autopsy. The vehicle has been seized for further investigation. The investigators will also carry out a survey to verify the conditions of the road surface at the time of the accident, trying to clarify the precise causes that led to the tragic loss of the forest policeman.

Pulsinelli was originally from Alvito but lived with his teacher wife and son in San Donato Val Comino (Frosinone), leaving a great void in the community of Villetta Barrea and among his colleagues. In the past he also served in the Picinisco forestry police station.

His passing has aroused deep condolences among friends, family and colleagues, who grieve over the loss of a man who dedicated his life to the service of others and nature. Traffic was slowed down. Everyone knew him for his professionalism and dedication to work. The mayor of Opi Antonio Di Santo was also on site.
