He would have turned 56 in November Renato Scuccato – pensioner originally from Sandrigo, Vicenza, but resident in Carmignano di Brenta, in the Padua area – the motorcyclist that, at lunchtime today, Saturday 15 June, lost his life on highway 53, in Bolzano Vicentino.
The accident
It was around 12.45pm when a elderly couple he had finished shopping at the «Prix» supermarket along via Gorizia and got into the cara Panda. The man behind the wheel entered the roadwithout realizing that a motorbike was arriving at that moment. Scuccato also attempted to brakebut the clash was inevitable and very violent. The motorcyclist was trapped under the car, suffering traumas that turned out to be fatal: when the Suem medical staff arrived there was nothing left that could be done for him and the doctor declared his death. The intervention of the Vicenza firefighters was also necessary raised the car to be able to extract the body. The elderly couple was unharmed.
The passion for motorbikes and volunteering
To carry out the findings, clarify the dynamics of the clash and the responsibilities, the interveners intervened Thiene carabinieri: the operations lasted several hours also due to the intense traffic on Saturday afternoon. The magistrate on duty ordered the seizure of both vehicles. The victim, former owner of a household appliances and IT shop, leaves behind his wife Paola and two children, Chiara and Matteo, with whom he shared a passion for two wheels and who was seriously injured in an accident with his motorbike a year ago. Scuccato dedicated himself to volunteering and by now for several years he belonged to the «SOS Alta Padovana» group of Fontaniva, which deals with medical aid and public assistance.
