A 63-year-old Mexican man was arrested in Rome by the State Police for the crime of sexual violence. The man was wanted by Interpol and there was an arrest warrant issued against him by the Mexican authorities on May 30th.

The arrest:

The agents of the Flying Section, from the Celio Commissariat and the 1st Trevi-Campo Marzio District traced the man to a B&B in Piazza di Spagna, where he was staying.

Following a check on the people housed, the Interpol search report for the man has emerged.

The accusation:

The 63-year-old is accused of raping a woman on March 31, 2023 inside his office.

The victim did not resist for fear of retaliationas the man was her hierarchical superior and could have caused her to lose her job.

Police intervention:

The policemen went to the B&B and they searched the room where the man was, who had locked himself inside.

At the end of the ritual formalities, the man was arrested and placed in the Regina Coeli prison at the disposal of the President of the Court of Appeal.
