OSIMO – During today’s press conference at the Ada Restaurant in Osimo, the spontaneous committee of citizens of the Via Molino Mensa neighborhood announced that they had filed an appeal before the Marche Regional Administrative Court, with the legal assistance of the lawyers Giorgio Benedetti and Emanuele Silvi, against the provision with which the Municipality of Osimo authorized the installation of the 5G antenna in Via Molino Mensa. It was stated that the committee has no political connotation, that the appeal was presented on the same day (Tuesday 11 June) in which the company began the installation work of the antenna support pole and that the reasons for the protest are linked to the deemed illegitimacy of the chosen site.

Emanuele Silvi first of all clarified that the area on which the plant stands is not private, but is owned by the Municipality of Osimo, which has leased it to a private individual with a renewable 9-year contract. The committee then believes that the area in which the antenna was placed is not a suitable site for installation, given that it is an equipped green area, on which it is forbidden to install radioelectric systems.
Furthermore, the area in question is also adjacent to sensitive sites frequented every day by numerous children and young people (Santilli sports facility, Kite Centre, play area): both the municipal regulation and regional law 12/2017 (Regional Regulations on radioelectric systems) provide that for the installation of new systems, priority should be given to public areas and buildings, possibly not close to sensitive sites. These are the salient points of the appeal presented by the citizens before the Marche Regional Administrative Court, with a request for the suspension of the works. We therefore await the decision of the administrative judges, hoping that the appeal will be accepted.
