Scerra probes the candidates, meetings with Cosentino and Di Stefano: what fate will the “Alliance for Gela” have?

Frost. “Alliance for Gela”, according to observers already at great risk of holding, could be the political scale on which to weigh the two candidates in the run-off. There was no shortage of electoral feedback from Scerra and his allies. Ahead of the second round, however, the center-right defectors seem to be moving towards mixed positions. Giampaolo Alario, Rinnova’s reference point, made this clear by speaking of “an Alliance for Gela eroded by the escapes forward”. The reconfirmed councilor Gabriele Pellegrino has already sided with Cosentino, without waiting for indications from the group. Scerra, in these hours, will be involved in various meetings. He will see the engineer Grazia Cosentino and the other competitor Terenziano Di Stefano. He hasn’t taken a clear direction yet. The outgoing city councilor wants to verify. By opting for the Cosentino project, he would in fact be part of an official centre-right, extended to moderates, which he strongly contested during the electoral campaign, considering it under the control of the “Nisse and Palermo secretariats”. He aspired to run for Palazzo di Città at the helm of the centre-right coalition but the parties veered towards Cosentino. With Di Stefano, however, a sort of pact for forty-year-olds would be created, first and foremost from a civic perspective.
