Padua, two boys overwhelmed by the Brenta current saved by firefighters. An encore of the Natisone tragedy came close

He tried attempted to cross the Brenta in Fontaniva, Padua, but the current was too strong for him: like this he attached himself to a trunk that protruded from the water and remained there, until the firefighters arrivedwho saved him.

Protagonist of the bad adventure, around 2pm today, Saturday 15 June, a boy (the details were not disclosed), which was dived into the river with a friend and the same age. The otherwith difficulty, he still managed to regain the shore: he remained dangling until the arrival of a fire brigade diverThat, to retrieve it, he lowered himself with a winch from the helicopter of the body: the other young man, who is panting on the shore, was also loaded onto the same helicopter. The rescue call (the intervention ended around 4pm) was responded to by the fire brigade team from the Cittadella detachment, a Saf team (acronym for Alpine River Speleo) from Padua, then the Venice helicopter with the divers on board.

The mind, obviously, turns to the Natisone tragedy: in the early afternoon of May 31st, near the Roman Bridge of Premariacco, Udine, two girls and a boy were surprised by the flood of the Natisone on a small island in the riverbed. Patrizia Cormos, twenty years old, Bianca Doros, 23 years old, and Cristian Casian Molnar, 25 years old, were overwhelmed by the increasingly rising water while they, locked in an embrace, awaited rescue. The image of the three boys in those terrible moments went around the world.
