Speaking at the microphones of VociDiSport.netthe former Biancoceleste defender Jaap Stam he had his say on the choice to entrust the bench of Lazio to Marco Baroni. The Dutchman also wanted to add a comment of esteem towards Alessandro Nesta, his former teammate and department mate during his experience in the capital and subsequently at Milan. Lazio’s seasons are always characterized by ups and downs, so it doesn’t surprise me that, after a fantastic season, which ended with the Champions League, last year the club experienced a slightly more stuttering season. I hope that with Baroni’s arrival, Lazio can find its dimension, qualifying for the Champions League, even if it won’t be very simple, given the excellent level of the Italian championship
On Nesta at Monza:
I’m happy for Alessandro because he is a fantastic person, as well as being an excellent coach. I am convinced that Monza was right to choose him because he is a prepared coach who will make his boys play well. Then, not indifferently, he was called by an old mutual friend of ours, Adriano Galliani, who will certainly give him confidence and not put too much pressure on him. Which is fundamental for a coach making his debut in Serie A
