Euro 2024, Germany’s turbo start. Today we get to the heart of things

Germany opened Euro 2024 with a crushing victory against Scotland, winning 5-1 at the Allianz Stadium in Munich. Among the scorers, Wirtz, Musiala, Havertz, Füllkrug and Emre Can stood out, while Rüdiger’s own goal marked the only Scottish goal.

A spectacular start for the hosts

On the evening of June 14, Germany proved to be one of the favorites of the tournament, dominating Scotland with a brilliant performance. The team coached by Julian Nagelsmann showed a fluid and incisive game, leaving little space for the opponents to organize themselves. The opening goal came in the 11th minute thanks to Wirtzfollowed by a splendid action of Musiala in 20th, considered the best in the field. Havertz he scored the third goal from a penalty just before the end of the first half.

Scotland’s hopes were dashed when Porteous was sent off in the 45th minute. In the second half Füllkrug and Emre Can consolidated the German lead, closing the match on a round 5-1.
