“What has been achieved in Ronchi dei legionari places the Friuli Venezia Giulia airport at the forefront in Italy and in the world, reflecting the path of sustainable development along which our region is directed“: this is what the regional councilor for environmental protection said Fabio Scoccimarro taking part in the ceremony in Ronchi dei legionari inauguration of the 3,143 kW photovoltaic systemintegrated with 600kW batteries for the accumulation and reuse of the renewable energy produced. For the occasion, some new electric-powered operational vehicles purchased by the airport were also presented, which will partly replace the existing ones.
In the presence of the president of Trieste Airport Marco I agreeof the national president of Enac Pierluigi Di Palma and the mayor of Ronchi dei Legionari Mauro Welcomethe exponent ofExecutive Fedriga highlighted the great effort made by the airport company in scope “green“, which aligns with the regional Administration’s long-term objectives of bringing forward the European Green Deal to 2045.
“Between the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Trieste Airport – said Scoccimarro – an agreement was signed as part of the Noemix project which involves the photovoltaic system project within the regional airport; the agreement, in addition to supporting the construction costs with 3.5 million euros of regional funds, also provides that the excess energy produced and not used by the airport, corresponding to almost a gigawatt, will be transferred to the grid and used for charging electric-powered vehicles of public administrations in our region“.
“This project – added Scoccimarro – it falls within a broader perspective, which is climate neutrality brought forward by 5 years for our Region compared to the objectives of the European Green Deal of 2050, something that we firmly wanted to put in black and white with the framework law approved the other year called “FVGreen”. We therefore welcome the construction of photovoltaic systems such as the one being inaugurated here to which the Region has contributed with interest and which allow us to get closer to one of the ambitious objectives on which the regional body operates for a greener territory free of carbon emissions. carbon, thanks to investments in the energy transition, in renewable energy, but at the same time connected to the world and competitive“.
With the Noemix project, Friuli Venezia Giulia is a candidate to be the first region in which a substantial share of the company vehicles of Municipalities, healthcare companies, the Region and public bodies in general will be replaced by electric vehicles. By aggregating the needs of different public administrations, we will move from the current model based on the purchase of cars to one based on a “smart” electric mobility service, more efficient, safe and productive. In addition to the rental of more than five hundred electric vehicles which will increase over the years and a system for managing and optimizing public mobility, thanks to Noemix two hundred charging infrastructures will be installed and, in collaboration with Trieste Airport, energy production will be guaranteed from renewable sources for the entire fleet of electric vehicles involved in the project.
