Works in Como San Giovanni, from Monday 17 June to Saturday 22 between nine and twelve cuts to train runs.
Yesterday Trenord announced that «due to urgent extraordinary maintenance works which will be carried out by RFI in Como San Giovanni and will limit the capacity of the infrastructure, from Monday 17 to Saturday 22 June between 9 and 12 the service of the regional lines will be rescheduled and cross-border passengers passing through the station”. Involved are the Milan-Chiasso, the line that reaches Locarno, the Biasca-Bellinzona and the route that passes through Mendrisio and Varese.
Specifically, on Monday and Tuesday between 8.20 and 12.20 the Milan-Chiasso line will be limited to shuttling «between the Rho-Milan Porta Garibaldi and Carimate-Cucciago stations, replacement buses will be activated on the Carimate-Chiasso and Cucciago-Como San routes John. The line runs towards Locarno between Chiasso and Seregno will travel along an alternative route, they will not make the stops in Como San Giovanni and Como Camerlata”. Replacement buses will be guaranteed from the single station towards Switzerland.
On Wednesday and Thursday, however, between 9 and 12 the Milan-Chiasso trains that arrive at Porta Garibaldi will only run as far as Carimate, the line to Biasca will only arrive in Chiasso and like the one that passes through Varese.
On Wednesday passengers are advised to use the line towards Locarno, however on Thursday the line to Locarno will undergo diversions in the morning between Chiasso and Seregno. Finally, on Friday and Saturday, always between 9 and 12, the line to Biasca will be limited to Chiasso like the one to Varese. The real compass remains to control the application with real-time traffic data.

During the works period, season tickets and travel tickets valid for the Como San Giovanni/Como Camerlata and Milan connections can also be used on the Milan Cadorna-Saronno-Como Lago route”.
Meanwhile, yesterday morning too, commuters reported the cancellation of three trains along the Milan-Chiasso line during full working hours. These are widely used routes but have recently been interrupted with a worrying frequency, according to travellers.
