The electoral alliance announced the day before yesterday between Maria Francesca Crespini and Federico Scaramucci does not convince Maurizio Gambini. For him it is a strategy studied previously.
What do you mean?
“There must be a mistake. Yesterday’s press conference communicated news dating back to long before the electoral campaign. The Scaramucci-Crespini alliance was already decided when the lists were formed and has roots even in the time of Mario Rosati’s candidacy from 5 years ago. I think reading yesterday’s newspapers helped our fellow citizens to understand which side is the new one, the real one. We are bringing real change, we are making the city of Urbino the reference for the territory, this scares the management of the centre-left, which wants the political center of gravity to remain on the coast”.
What do you think it could lead to?
“We started from the great result of the recognition of Urbino as the provincial capital, destined to bring much more funding for the city and infrastructure. The mayor of Cesena, a party comrade of the other party, obtained the same result and speaks of it as a turning point epochal, even for investments. Here Scaramucci doesn’t even talk about it. Does he want to shape the future of the city with graphics and slides? The truth is that we are the only political force in this electoral cycle that has believed in it, the only ones with the strength to carry it forward in the perspective of a province of Urbino and Montefeltro that restores dignity to an entire territory. We don’t like the idea of making our city a branch of Pesaro. We stand out for this and for the fact that we haven’t burned the candidacies of many young and old, as happened among the ranks of our adversaries, only to bring useful votes to the usual suspects, to administrators fished out from other places and from other political seasons eager to still be in command”.
On June 23 and 24, your coalition will find itself with the same number of people challenging one with multiple members, united together. How do you see it?
“By culture we don’t think in this way. All those who believe in our project, which is the project shared with fellow citizens, offer their commitment and have space to make their contribution. We don’t have extras called to make up the numbers. We they are of interest to the people. We also have a basic clarity and transparency: what the citizens have chosen at the ballot box they will find in the city administration without prior under-the-table maneuvers or agreements. It is sad to see that politics is not all like this, with this vision and this respect. Those who ran for an alternative list, dozens and dozens of young and old who did not have the space to move in an overly crowded field, now find themselves in a political container flattened by the old party logic history, already seen, and it is not good. There are many people, candidates and citizens, who did not receive the respect and consideration they deserved in these elections. It wasn’t a good page, but we are writing another story, much more ambitious and at the same time more concrete. Ready to welcome everyone’s ideas, not to make up the numbers, but to build the good of the city, the territory and our community.”
