Weekend with stable weather but with clouds from Sunday afternoon. A new intense heat wave is expected starting from Tuesday in most of our regions
SITUATION: our peninsula is affected by a high pressure promontory which determines stable weather conditions over a large part of our central-southern regions, while the northern regions continue to be influenced by the arrival of humid air masses of Atlantic origin which they favor the formation of clouds and instability phenomena especially in the Alpine range, but extending towards the plain areas, particularly in the afternoon-evening. No substantial changes are expected in our central-southern regions, the stable weather will continue with maximum temperatures gradually increasing, however cloud cover is expected between Sunday afternoon and the early hours of Monday morning, especially in the central-south, but no phenomena are expected significant, while the latest updates of the mathematical models highlight the arrival of a new wave of decline which will manifest itself over the next week, starting from Tuesday and for most of the following days, due to the rise of a high promontory North African pressure which will also favor the rise of masses of hot air and suspended dust/sand at high altitude towards our peninsula. Based on current data, temperatures will rise well above seasonal averages and expected maximum values could easily exceed +38°C/+40°C in the L’Aquila area, the Peligna Valley, the Pescara Valley and the Sangro Valley.
FORECAST: general conditions of predominantly clear or slightly cloudy skies are expected in our region with gradually increasing maximum temperatures. Little news on Sunday: prevalence of stable weather with partly cloudy skies but with increasing cloud cover (medium-high and stratified clouds) in the afternoon-evening and at night. Occasional scattered showers cannot be ruled out during the evening-night, improving from Monday. From Monday/Tuesday, temperatures will rise significantly again and the heat will intensify, especially along the coasts.
Temperatures: stationary in the minimum values, increasing in the maximum values. Further increasing from Sunday and in the first days of next week.
Winds: light to breeze in the morning; in the afternoon reinforcements will be possible along the coastal strip.
Sea: slightly rough in the morning with temporarily increasing swell in the afternoon.
