Franco Uzzeni will not be at the start of the Valle Ossolane Rally which will be staged on Saturday and Sunday. The “lion of Soriso” was highly anticipated by the fans, for him it would have been a return after years of absence. Instead, box number 3 – this is the starting position of the eight-time winner – will remain empty. Uzzeni had an accident while testing the car, a Skoda Fabia, during a test in the courtyard of his factory.

For reasons that the technicians are trying to explain, suddenly on a short straight the car skidded to the right, colliding with some shrubs. Machine heavily damaged, fortunately no physical damage to the pilot, but he will be forced to wear a collar for a few weeks due to the backlash.
