A special, truly exciting afternoon on Wednesday 12 June for Massa! Leaving the city of Turin behind and saying goodbye to Genoa and La Spezia, the 1000 Miglia set the course towards our city, where the Stamp Control was scheduled in Piazza Aranci. Waiting for the 420 historic cars arriving from the seafront, preceded by the 140 Ferraris of the “Ferrari Tribute 1000 Miglia”, a jubilant crowd, intrigued by the charm that only the most beautiful race in the world can arouse, where sport is able to combine history and beauty of the area. The Automobile Club Massa Carrara, which provided promotional and organizational support to the event, took part in the day with the installation of an Aci Storico station, in line with its institutional mission, distributing flags to adults and children to wave as the cars passed and a event brochure. President Fabrizio Panesi recalls that “thanks to the commitment and passion of the friends of the ACI of Brescia, today we can enjoy this historical re-enactment shared with the Mayor of Massa Francesco Persiani and the common commitment has resulted in an event of great significance for the city”. Present, in addition to the Mayor, the Commander of the Guardia di Finanza Colonel Gabriele Di Guglielmo – we remember that the 1000 Miglia paid homage to the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the Guardia di Finanza – Dr. Maria Antonietta Curtolillo Vicar of the Police Commissioner, who together with the provincial councilor, Dina Dell’Ertole, the councilors of the Municipality of Massa Monica Bertoneri, Giorgia Garau and Francesco Mangiaracina and the many councilors who attended, stamped the card with the stamp of the passage to Massa for many cars. Greeted by warm applause, the two-time world rally champion Miki Biason got out of the car and answered the questions of Nedo Checchi, who introduced the cars and crews as they passed. Among the roars of the engine, there was a commemorative moment for Giancarlo Andreazzoli, known in Massa as a great enthusiast of historic cars and workshop technician, with the delivery of a plaque to his daughter Paola, who remembered her father with emotion.
