The Traffic and Ordinary Mobility Office of the Municipality of Palermo, on the occasion of the “Palermo Pride 2024” event on June 22nd, issued an ordinance limiting vehicular traffic which establishes the following:
– as per ordinance no. 1123 of 21 August 2023, for 22 June 2024, at 2.30 pm, and until the needs cease, the transit of the vehicles used for the event will be permitted (wagons, articulated vehicles, 2 tourist trains , 1 pickup, 1 tourist motor carriage) along the planned route starting from via Roma, via Cavour, via Ruggero Settimo, piazza Castelnuovo, via Dante, via Serradifalco, piazza Principe di Camporeale, with entrance to the Zisa cultural sites;
– furthermore, in derogation of ordinance no. 608 of 22 May 2024, for the anniversary, the New Jersey vehicles positioned in Piazza Castelnuovo and in Via Ruggero Settimo will be moved in order to allow the passage of the vehicles mentioned above and immediately after the passage repositioned, with the presence of the PM and by COIME;
– all the crossroads leading to the axes along which the procession will unfold will be inhibited from circulation until the needs cease, diverting the flows towards alternative itineraries as necessary. The streets Giuseppe Whitaker, Giacomo del Duca and Paolo Gili may be closed to traffic if the need arises.
– finally, the provision orders AMAT public transport and extra-urban transport to modify, where necessary, the routes of public and extra-urban transport lines during the period of the event, in consideration of the limitations in force in the streets involved .
