PAVIA – The new mayor of Pavia Michele Lissia has taken office in Palazzo Mezzabarba.
This is his first message as mayor to the population.
“Dear fellow citizens, with great emotion and profound gratitude, I write to you to thank you for electing me as your mayor in the first round. This result is testimony to the trust you have placed in us and in the shared vision for the future of our beloved City.
The electoral campaign was intense, full of meetings and dialogues, and allowed us to understand your needs and aspirations. Now we are ready to give a new start to Pavia.
One of the first projects to which we will dedicate our attention will be the start of the process to have a new municipal swimming pool in the shortest possible time, a space for sport and leisure, also a symbol of rebirth for the community, and a meeting point .
Another fundamental step will be the construction of a new school in Pavia West. Investing in education means investing in our future, and this new school will offer a modern and stimulating environment for children, and will also give the opportunity to resolve critical issues related to mobility entering the city from the West, relieving the traffic that persists near the Minerva.
We will also work for the revival of neighborhood committees. I firmly believe that the active participation of citizens is essential to ensure a transparent and effective administration. The neighborhood committees will be the beating heart of our city, ensuring your voices are always heard.
I want to be a mayor capable of listening to the City, always, and therefore I will establish a permanent moment of listening at the municipality, dedicated to citizens who want to come and talk to us.
We will communicate the activities in a transparent way, because Palazzo Mezzabarba is a place where decisions are made for Pavia and with Pavia.
We will not forget the other key points of our program, such as the promotion of culture and tourism, the strengthening of public transport, and attention to the environment and sustainability. Every action will be guided by the desire to improve the quality of life of all the people of Pavia.
Your support was fundamental to reaching this goal, and now, together, we can really make a difference. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your trust: honored to be able to represent you, I am ready to work tirelessly to transform Pavia into a better, more inclusive and prosperous city.
