With the’election of the new secretariat, which took place this morning at the Terni Building Fundthe Fillea Cgil Umbria emphasizes the strengthening of its union structure and completes the process of electing the leaders who will lead the organization at the regional level.

By absolute majority, with 97% of the membership, the following were elected: Cristian Benedetti, Cristiano Costanzi, Barbara Carboni and Dragos Harabagiu, who will support the general secretary Elisabetta Masciarri in the regional trade union activities of the sector. The election took place during the regional executive meeting, which saw the participation of Maria Rita Paggio, general secretary of the CGIL Umbria, And Maurizio Maurizzi, national secretary of Fillea CGIL.

Fillea Cgil is faced with important strategic challenges, which require constant commitment and foresight. Among the priorities is the discussion on unitary platform for the renewal of the National Construction Contract, recently approved and now at the center of meetings with workers. During the board meeting, the significant step forward towards strengthening the joint action of the FenealUil, Filca Cisl and Fillea Cgil federations represented by the “Rome agreements“. With the introduction of updated and more effective regulations, the aim is, thanks to those agreements, to guarantee a greater protection for workers through innovation in membership processes, accident prevention and the fight against illegal work. The importance of the role of the Workers’ Representatives for Territorial Security (RLST) and transparency in bilateral bodies is also highlighted.

Constant attention to the safety and well-being of those who work to be kept particularly high also in view of the constantly rising temperatures we are witnessing, to be monitored by activating information channels and promoting the prevention of the risk of heatstroke and related pathologies. A willingness to commit to guarantee protected, safe, dignified and stable work which we also carry forward through the CGIL referendum campaign “For Work* I put my signature”, an initiative which has already reached the objective of 500 thousand signatures and which will intensify in the coming days despite having already reached a significant milestone. An objective achieved which strengthens our commitment to protecting workers’ rights and continuously improving the conditions of those who work in our country!
