“It was supposed to be a sports celebration, it’s a shame that such an important match has to be played without our fans”, declared the Sports Councilor of Bisceglie, Maurizio Di Pinto in reference to the match between Bisceglie and the Amalfi Coast of Sunday 16 June, at the “San Martino” municipal stadium in Maiori, valid as the second leg of the Eccellenza national play-off final.

“Considering the value of this final, the support of the fans would have been fundamental for the team. As an Administration we are fully alongside the management of Bisceglie Calcio in the request made for the match to be played behind closed doors, in compliance with the principle of fairness. I firmly believe that this solution can guarantee a fair and correct competition for both teams” he added.

“However, if the provisions do not change, I thank the fans for their understanding and continuous support shown to the team and I hope that, despite the physical absence at the stadium, they can support the star-studded Nerazzurri colors with the same passion as always. Serie D is an important objective, both for the team and for the City, and, albeit from a distance, we will all be cheering, with the hope of being able to celebrate with them upon their return to Bisceglie” he concluded.
