After the election, the mayor Riccardo Righi is working to put together his team and all the councilors go crazy. There are no certain names because the mayor has not made too much of a statement but alongside him he will aim to have the best team to carry out the electoral programme. There are two privileged selection criteria: competence and the ability to be close to people. In continuity with the previous council, there should be seven councilors and they will reflect the balance defined by the vote but, while taking into account the indications of the political forces that support it, the mayor has the widest discretion in appointing councilors in compliance with gender quotas .
And among the new faces there may be no shortage of surprises. Starting from Alessandro Di Loreto who has been alongside Riccardo Righi since his first bicycle outings to reconnoiter the area: an architect, he was Director of the Traffic and Public Transport Service of the Municipality of Modena and then director of the Modena Mobility Agency. Righi could rely on his competence and pragmatism to design Carpi’s mobility starting from the cycle ring road announced during the election campaign.
Another constant presence alongside Righi was that of Andrea Rostovi of the Poco Subito association which produces Concentrico, the festival particularly appreciated in recent years in the artistic and cultural field.
In this electoral campaign it was another solid point of reference Sergio Vascotto for which the doors of the Environment Department could be opened but Mayor Righi, who is in his early thirties, could prefer a young person to lower the average age. The same thing could be said of Giorgio Verrini for Healthcare. We will see.
The solid Mariella Lugli in part Pd could be reconfirmed in the Budget in consideration of the work carried out in the previous legislature as well as Tamara Calzolari which was appreciated by the Social Services.
Another very popular name is that of Marco Reggiani who after having held the role of secretary of the PD and after two terms as city councilor confirmed his solid vocation as a man of the Democratic Party, a prerogative of those who can aspire to public works.
Based on the distribution determined by the electoral vote, the name of a third councilor should come from the PD. There are about fifteen days left to define the team and distribute the delegations.
