A delegation made up of 25 people including entrepreneurs from the construction sector, Cefs employees, technicians from the Joint Territorial Committee (CPT), professionals and students from Udine, visited Umbria for two days to closely study the executive techniques and technologies used in some post-earthquake construction sites underway in Perugia and Norcia. The visit was born from the synergy between the construction schools of Udine and Perugia with the collaboration of Kimia SpA

On the first day, the delegation consisted of ANCE Udine, Confartigianato Udine, Cefs employees, Cpt technicians, professionals and some students from the Friulian construction school, visited the Prefecture building in Perugia, where various structural consolidation interventions with composite systems are underway.

The next day, however, the group stopped at the Church of Santa Maria of Constantinople in Cerreto di Spoleto and atAbbey of Sant’Eutizio in Preci. Structural consolidation interventions after the 2016 earthquake and restoration with innovative products and technologies are underway on both construction sites.

Finally, the visit continued to the historic center of Norcia. The delegation was accompanied to the city by the surveyor Raoul Paggetta, former official of the Superintendence of Umbria, who illustrated the management of the emergency after the earthquake of 30 October 2016 and the safety interventions carried out since 2017. In the months following the disastrous event, in fact, the Superintendence of Umbria and the firefighters used Kimia natural hydraulic lime-based fiber mortars to secure the city walls and all the churches destroyed by the earthquake. The objective of the intervention was to avoid further collapses and protect the walls damaged by the weather until the reconstruction works began.

Among the participants of the group of entrepreneurs, technicians and students visiting the construction sites of Perugia and Norcia were the president of ANCE and CEFS Udine, Angela Martinathe vice-president of CEFS Udine Admir Miusliju and the director of CEFS Udine, Loris Zanor.

“What was done in Norcia – they underline Angela Martina And Admir Miusliju – represents a model of safeguarding historical assets affected by disastrous events and deserves to be known and studied, for this reason, we thought it appropriate to undertake this study trip, which allowed us to experience first-hand and learn directly in the field”.

Loris Zanorin this regard, underlines “the importance of the relationships established with other construction schools in the national territory in the implementation of practical training interventions aimed at improving the skills of the actors employed in our construction companies. The very welcome visit organized with the support of the Perugia Building School with which a fruitful collaboration has been ongoing for years is part of this context.”
