Inter-Martinez, with Oristanio the yes of Genoa

“Inter-Martinez, Genoa’s yes with Oristanio”. This is the headline for Tuttosport this morning. Inter have got their hands on Josep Martinez, Genoa’s Spanish goalkeeper born in 1998 – we read in the newspaper -. The deal is not yet completed, the final square must be found on the evaluation and compensation to be included in the operation, but the two clubs have now embarked on a path that should lead within a fortnight to defining the transfer of the player who will support Sommer next season, with the prospect of becoming the Nerazzurri goalkeeper in the ’25-26 season

The rossoblù value the price tag at 18 million, Inter at 15 million with the bonuses: the key lies precisely in the compensation.

To reduce the outlay, Inter offered Genoa a selection of young players from which to choose a suitable counterpart. Gaetano Oristanio, offensive wildcard returning from loan to Cagliari, seems to be the ideal choice. In the last season he made 25 appearances and 2 goals, and yesterday the Sardinians announced that they did not want to exercise the redemption set at 4 million euros (even if Inter still had the possibility of buying him back). Now, the Italian Under 21 is about to move to Genoa, as long as the two clubs reach an agreement on the economic evaluation of the player originally from Campania. It remains to be seen whether Inter, following what they did last year with Bologna for Fabbian, will decide to insert a buy-back clause to maintain some form of control over Oristanio, or whether they will sell him permanently.
