The Castle of Mesagne (Brindisi) will host the great exhibition from 13 June “G7: seven centuries of Italian art” in which, among the 50 works, three paintings from the art collection of the Cassa di Risparmio di Terni and Narni Foundation are exhibited. It’s about the Judith with the head of Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi, ofAnnunciation and Saints Sebastian and Catherine of Alexandria by Francesco Fantoni from Norcia and the Massacre of the innocents with adoration of the shepherds and adoration of the Magi by Luca Signorelli.

Works never exhibited to the public

Three works of notable historical and artistic interest, two of which have never been exhibited to the public, such as the predella panel by Signorelli and the large panel, notified by the Superintendence, attributed to Fantoni. There Judith Artemisia, on the other hand, had just returned to Palazzo Montani Leoni from the Palazzo Ducale exhibition in Genoa and is expected, after Mesagne, in November, in Rome at Palazzo Braschi.

The works of the Foundation

The three works were acquired in the collection of the Carit Foundation between 2009 and 2021 during the Candelori presidency (Fantoni) and the Carlini presidency (Signorelli and Artemisia Gentileschi) respectively. The exhibition, curated by prof. Pierluigi Carofano, is a collateral event at the international summit of Borgo Egnazia and will go well beyond the days of stay in Puglia of the Greats of the Earth, because it will close its doors on November 30th.
