In the end the eviction will take place: there are no conditions for the condominium in via Torino 8 to continue to be inhabited. After access and checks by the Local Police (judged favorably by the “regular” inhabitants of the building), the involvement of Striscia la Notizia (see HERE), referrals (see HERE), broken promises by the entrepreneur who owns most of the apartments regarding the provision of resources to fix the worst problems, the decision is made.
Too many critical issues remain intact attributable to sewerage, maintenance, health and hygiene situation, presence of illegal workers. «The provincial public order and safety committee has ended – communicates the mayor of Gallarate, Andrea Cassani – it was decided that the condominium in via Torino 8 will be completely cleared out. A letter will be delivered to the occupants, with and without title, in the next few hours with which it will be communicated that they will have to clear the building of things and people by first days of July. Every subsequent day will then be useful for clearing the property.”
Again: «At the same time as the eviction, the owners will carry out the closing and bricking up the openings of access, which will remain until the works are carried out to guarantee the minimal hygiene and safety situations. The people present with qualifications are already aware, since the end of November, that they should have found another housing solution and now there will be no more postponements”.
