SAFETY AT WORK IN VENETO IS WOMEN. 70% OF THE VEGA FORMAZIONE TEAM, NATIONAL LEADER IN THE SECTOR, IS MADE UP OF WOMEN AND IS CONTINUALLY EXPANDING. AMONG OTHERS, IT IS ONE OF ABOUT 1,500 COMPANIES IN ITALY CERTIFIED FOR GENDER EQUALITY IN RECENT DAYS THE RIBBON CUTTING OF THE NEW SPACES DEDICATED TO WORKER SAFETY WITH SIMONE VENTURINI, COUNCILOR FOR LABOR AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF VENICE

Over 100 thousand workers have been trained by the Mestre group with over 5,000 courses launched in the classroom and online. A growing national record, especially with the inauguration of new training spaces which have led the company to reach 3,000 square meters of classrooms and offices.

AN ABSOLUTE NATIONAL RECORD

The Councilor for Work and Economic Development of the Municipality of Venice, Simone Venturini, recently participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the inauguration of Vega Formazione’s new workplace safety training spaces at the Terraglio Management Centre.

These new spaces allow on the one hand to implement the training offer – explained Councilor Simone Venturini – on the other hand they also represent a great resource for the labor market of our territory, because it is a reality in constant expansion and which it becomes even more precious because 70% of the employees are young and very young women”.

To confirm its commitment to adopting company policies aimed at reducing disparities in the working context between men and women, Vega Formazione has obtained gender equality certification according to the reference practice Uni/PdR 125:2022. In Italy there are around 1,500 companies that have obtained this certification (latest data available from the Department for Equal Opportunities).

An important event, the ribbon cutting, therefore, and not only for Vega, but for the entire Venetian territory because the commitment of the Mestre group makes the lagoon city the Italian capital of training for worker safety.

And the numbers prove it. Active for more than three decades in the training sector, in the last year Vega has trained over 100 thousand workers with more than 5,000 courses launched in the classroom and online. A growing national record, especially with the inauguration of new training spaces which have led the company to reach 3,000 square meters. Without forgetting the practical safety training centre, among the largest and most equipped in the country, which includes the first indoor fire test room ever built in Italy.

“A result that makes us proud – said Mauro Rossato, President of the Vega Group – and which we are proud to share with the Councilor for Labor of the Municipality of Venice, Simone Venturini. Because excellence in the Northeast is not only productive, but also educational, and is found on the Venetian mainland.”

The different origins of the workers also bear witness to this.

“Our training has no borders – underlined Mauro Rossato – workers come to our virtual classrooms and in person from all over Italy. From North to South of the country”.

It is important to remember, then, the commitment of the Vega Group with the activity of the Workplace Safety Observatory.

For 15 years, in fact, the Observatory, led by a team of expert engineers, has been an authoritative source for professionals and for the local and national press in monitoring the workplace death emergency in the country. Every month it processes statistics, provincial and regional mapping to outline the weak points of workplace safety throughout Italy.
