On the occasion of its Tenth Anniversary, the Canova Orchestra will perform three concerts between the months of June and July at Villa Toeplitz in Varese and the Church of Santo Stefano in Velate (Varese).
The concerts will be held in partnership with the Municipality of Varese and with the support from the Varesotto Community Foundation (where Canova has recently opened its own fund), and sees the collaboration of Varese Estense Festival – Menottiof the Polyphonic Group “J. Desprez” of Varese and the Matteo Varese House Committee.
Off we go next June 15th, at 6pmat theExedra of Villa Toeplitz (in case of bad weather the concert will be moved to the Church of S. Stefano a Velate, with a program dedicated to the eighteenth-century counterpoint of JS Bach and WA Mozart. On the podium of the Canova, its director and founder Enrico Saverio Pagano, close to important debuts at the helm of the RAI Symphony Orchestra of Turin and at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome.
The review will continue on June 28, at 8.30 pm, with a program from the Renaissance to today performed by the Polyphonic Group “J. Desprez” – historic collaborator of Canova – and directed by its founder Francesco Miotti at the Church of S. Stefano in Velate. So, the last appointment on July 13th at 6pmalways atExedra of Villa Toeplitz with one of the greatest accordion virtuosos such as Simone Zanchini who will perform in a program dedicated to Piazzolla and Morricone.

L’Canova Chamber Orchestra was founded by its director, Enrico Saverio Pagano, in 2014. It has a particular interest in musical classicism, without neglecting the 20th century and the contemporary, and avails itself of the collaboration of some of the best young Italian professionals, whose average age is under 30 years old. She has performed throughout Italy and abroad, has collaborated with some of the main young soloists on the national and international scene, and is – now – considered a point of reference among Italian chamber orchestras, so much so that she is defined by critics as “a of the best companies around.” Canova is ensemble in residence of the IUC – University Concert Institution of Rome, of the Villa Reale, of the Teatro di Corte and Parco di Monza, of the Varese Estense Festival Menotti, and of Verbano Musica Estate (Locarno, Switzerland) and is supported by Ensto – Apollo and Auriga Srl. He has recorded for Sony Music, Amadeus, ClassicVoice and Urania Records.
