City Council 13 June 2024 / the change to the three-year plan for public works

Thanks to the report by councilor Alessandro Casi, the City Council addressed the resolution relating to the change to the three-year public works plan: “there are three new interventions that will make their appearance and they all fall in 2024 – Casi began. I am referring to the extraordinary maintenance of via Anconetana, via Marco Perennio and via Pitagora, viale Don Minzoni, for a total amount of 2 million euros, a clear sign of a commitment now made by the municipal administration towards improving the state of the municipal roads . Furthermore, we have reintroduced interventions that were already planned for 2023 but, being divided into several functional sections, they also fall within this year, especially with regard to the latest contracting procedures: the redevelopment of the San Clemente area, the former fruit and vegetable market and the area of the Foro Boario and the restoration of the parking area in via XXV Aprile. Other works will be carried over to the next few years because we have decided to give priority to those, which are decidedly numerous, financed with Pnrr funds and which involve very regular and close deadlines and a workload to be managed as best as possible for both the technical offices and the administrative. I am referring to the roundabout in via Chiarini, the consolidation of the Giovi embankment and the adaptation of the former Bank of Italy building in via Cesalpino which runs to 2025 and the renovation of the top floor of the building in via Pellicceria, the construction of the school nursery in the Tortaia area and in lot 2 of the Gioco del Pallone intervention which runs to 2026”.

Alessandro Caneschi asked for clarification on the interventions for the 30 zones “which I understand have been postponed to 2027” while Giovanni Donati noted the lack of projects for new sports facilities. In their reply, councilors Federico Scapecchi and Alessandro Casi recalled that important responses are expected, especially in the Pratacci area, while for the 30 areas the response always lies in a logic of priority which currently favors the works of the Pnrr. The practice was approved with 18 votes in favor and 11 against.
