It was around 3pm on June 13th when the tourist was traveling along the cycle path, particularly appreciated by foreign tourists who flock to the route throughout the summer to discover Friuli Venezia Giulia. This was also the case for the 50-year-old, who during the ride, in the locality of San Rocco, in Pontebba, at kilometer 138, lost control of her bike when it fell to the ground.

In the particularly violent impact, the woman suffered a head injury as mentioned. The Sores health workers intervened immediately and arrived on site with an ambulance and an air ambulance and proceeded to urgently transfer the woman by helicopter to the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine under code red. The conditions of the 50-year-old, with a guarded prognosis, are currently considered rather serious. Furthermore, the reason that led to the fall has not yet been clarified and is currently being examined by the Carabinieri of the Tarvisio station, who intervened on site to investigate.
