The Dante school of Legnano presents its “Inferno”… semi-serious

Although the inclement weather does not suggest it, we have reached the end of this 2023/2024 school year. At lower secondary school “Dante Alighieri”, of the “Via dei Salici” Institute of Legnano, the last bell on Friday 7 June greeted students and parents with a goodbye.

On Tuesday 11 June, the director Antonio Trezza and his teachers had the pleasure of offering to pupils and parents an evening in the school premises to present the works created by the children during the school year as part of the co-curricular workshops financed by the PNRR for school dropouts.

At the beginning of this year, it was the same manager who presented this great innovation to parents, as part of the training offer: a huge loan to support ordinary teaching, divided into courses to strengthen basic skills, individual mentoring and orientation for the kids and finally, during the second quarter, in seven afternoon workshop courses which ranged from the sporting field (team sports with the expert professors Carmelo Latella and the tutor Giuseppe Bonavita; racket sports with expert prof. Gianbattista Breda and tutor Davide Campagiorni), coding (expert prof. Mauro D’Abramo and tutor prof. Vanessa Crugliano), art (expert prof. Luca Troisi and tutor prof. Alessandra Augelli), literature (expert prof. Barilli Tiziana, tutor prof. Bertani Silvana, to technology (expert prof. Marina Pessina, tutor prof. Manuela Perrone) to theater (expert prof. Chiara Deluca, tutor prof. Gianni Nava).

The evening was also an opportunity for the manager to anticipate next year’s activities, which will see the PNRR funds flow into activities that enhance and strengthen the students’ STEM skills, activities of which the Institute will give a taste with the courses starting already in the current month of June, which will affect all levels, from childhood to lower secondary school.

Yesterday’s event was designed to make parents participate in the conclusion of these paths which primarily saw the children as protagonists, who took turns in exhibiting the dioramas at literary theme created during the humanistic laboratory, themed Divine Comedy and Orlando Furioso, and the restoration work and embellishment of the institute’s entrance hall carried out during the technology laboratory, the mural designed and painted entirely by them on the wall perimeter of the school gym and, finally, between a refreshment break and some problems caused by the hailstorm, the evening ended with a standing ovation dedicated to the theater show “Inferno Semiserio”, conceived and brought to the stage by prof. Chiara De Luca, assisted by prof. Gianni Nava.

The actors moved on stage with confidence, entertained and amused the audience with their modern and ironic interpretation of the iconic characters of Dante’s Inferno, extricating themselves from recited triplets, jokes and ballets, to close with an engaging chorus on the notes of ” Paradise” by Coldplay, concluding the evening in an atmosphere of joviality and participation.
