NAPLES (ITALPRESS) – “Overall, in rail transport in Campania alone, we in the Region invest 5 billion euros, for the purchase of new trains, to improve safety on the lines and to redo the stations”. This was stated by the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the conference “Campania’s experience in the development of integrated mobility services”, an event organized in Naples by the Consorzio Unico Campania in collaboration with TTS Italia, the National Association for Intelligent Transportation Systems.
“On the 25th of this month – says the governor – we will inaugurate the new Porta Nolana station to complete the structural works. Added to this is a very ambitious program to renew the entire fleet of public buses: Eav, Air, we are truly at the forefront in Italy. Today – continues De Luca – we are inaugurating another service which will start in full on January 1st: we will no longer only have the paper ticket, which will still remain also because we have a part of users who are not familiar with digitalisation, but we are also introducing a single ticket for public transport in the Campania Region, i.e. a ticket that has the possibility of allowing our fellow citizens to travel on all lines and on all means of transport. We are truly at the forefront from this point of view and we are proud of the work that has been done”, concludes De Luca.
