Saturday 15 June 2024 will be an important day for Sesto San Giovanni. After having completed the redevelopment works of the area in front of the church dedicated to the Blessed Giovanni Mazzucconi in via Marx at number 450, in fact, we will proceed with the inauguration and naming of the square dedicated to Don Gianfranco Redaelli. The double ceremony together with mayor Roberto Di Stefano will be held starting at 10am.

The provost, who passed away in 2018, was first parish vicar of San Giuseppe from 1966 to 1974, then parish priest of Santa Maria Nascente and Blessed Giovanni Mazzucconi for 32 years, from 1974 to 2006. The Municipality intervened by proceeding with a real regeneration of the area, creating a surface water collection tank and redoing the plumbing system. Then we proceeded with the laying of the asphalt, leaving the self-locking blocks in the parking area. The cost of the intervention, supported entirely by internal resources of the Municipality, is approximately 130 thousand euros.

At the same time, the municipal administration has embraced the will of a large part of the population residents of Cascina Gatti to name the square after the historic parish priest. Citizens are invited to participate.
