«Puglia doesn’t deserve this, perhaps they will have found out about Emiliano and Decaro». These are the words of senator of Forza Italia, Maurizio Gasparri, interviewed by Antenna Sud, regarding the controversy linked to CNN’s words on the mafia in Puglia, which from today hosts the G7. According to the senator, in fact, the accusations made in the article against the region, “land of the mafia”, could depend on the events of recent months, which in some way also involved Antonio Decaro and Michele Emiliano, even if not as suspects.

The errors and false myths in the CNN article

«Puglia is a great land», added the president of the FI senators. «The CNN report is unfair, perhaps you were referring to these administrators. I don’t know how to give an answer, I haven’t seen it but I will see it”, commented Gasparri who, without thinking too much, immediately assumed that the American broadcaster’s accusations depend on the mayor of Bari and the governor of Puglia, not aware of the numerous errors and “false myths” linked to stereotypes present inarticle signed by Barbie Latza Nadeau (like the presence of the Sacra Corona Unita in Foggia, but which is instead a criminal phenomenon in Salento). But for Gasparri the reason lies in “their businesses, the fact that people of ill repute work in the municipal companies that Decaro had to control”. Furthermore, after the attacks on the Bari administration, the senator continued his dissertation by shifting the focus from Puglia to China, defining it as «one of the cancers of the planet. They put it at the G7 but it is a danger.” Hoping, therefore, for different decisions by the leaders towards the country.
