He was the victim of a beating last May 9th in Bagheria, in the Palermo area. Now a 21-year-old young man is in Pagliarelli prison accused of sexual assault against a girl.
It is the epilogue of a story that led to the discovery of the rape that allegedly occurred in Palermo and the subsequent punitive expedition organized by the family. Police officers managed to track down the three attackers, including the young girl’s father. The latter told investigators that the victim of the beating had raped her daughter after an evening spent in a club in the city.
So three of them – the father, the brother and a third person – waited for the young man to come out of a shaving salon to beat him bloody. Initially it seemed like one of the many episodes of violence in the nightlife scene recorded in this period in Palermo and its province. The boy, stunned and bleeding, was rescued by 118 health workers and taken to hospital for checks. The doctors had diagnosed him with a prognosis of 20 days but he asked to leave and signed his resignation. During the investigation, the reason that he triggered the punitive raid emerged. At this point the deputy prosecutor Clio Di Guardo, who is part of the department’s pool of magistrates “weak groups”requested and obtained a precautionary custody order from the judge for preliminary investigations which was carried out last week.
