The Emergency theater show on stage in Carpi with Concentrico

Once upon a time there was wartheatrical show produced by Emergencyinterpreted by Mario Spallinodirected and written by Patrizia Pasquiwill be staged on Friday 14 June, at 9pm, at the arena Concentric Festival at the Cappuccina Park in Carpi.

In a single act of 75 minutes, facts, characters, reflections, dialogues and songs follow one another that try to retrace the history of these last decades and show that war is not inevitable. The Doomsday Clock was created by scientists from the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists in 1947 to metaphorically show a hypothetical end of the world.

Faced with all this, Once Upon a Time There Was War is a title that might seem like a utopia. ‘Utopia’ is not a word suitable only for dreamers, poets or madmen. It doesn’t mean escape from reality, but the ability to imagine something that isn’t there yet, making it possible. This is demonstrated by the lives of some people, more or less known, who over the years have been able to jam the mechanism of war, “for a future that takes humanity into account”. Through the voice of Mario Spallino, accompanied by original music and songs by Guido Tongiorgitheir stories come to life on stage to remind us that men and women can, with their choices, perform extraordinary actions.

Once upon a time, war is a spectacle, but also and above all a contribution to an education that includes utopia in its path.
