We receive and publish – The invitation from Dr. Ghirga and the environmental doctors to express their opinion on the state of health of the population in our territory is truly timely. In fact, it allows us to highlight the work that our group has already put in place, for some time now, so that no polluting plants are built in the Civitavecchia area again. We cannot therefore help but embrace what the Doctors noted and we do so, as requested, looking the Civitavecchiesi in the eyes, aware of having achieved an epochal turning point when, in 2021, we played a fundamental role for the approval of the regional law, which definitively marked the end of fossil fuel power plants in our region.
This is not an electoral promise, but the continuation of the path already undertaken, when we will govern the city without ever forgetting to listen to our community. This action is essential to protect the health of citizens and maintain a healthy environment. For this reason we believe that in Civitavecchia there is not even room for the nauseating biodigestion plants for waste collection in the Roman territory, structures associated with continuous journeys of polluting trucks, which continually bring rubbish and compromise any activity within a radius of kilometers from the plant.
Our commitment, therefore, does not only consist in improving the quality of the air, also in a preventive way for the fight against tumors and other diseases associated with pollution, but we also want to try to improve assistance in terms of waiting lists . In fact, we oppose a reduction in the hours of specialist visits as a possible solution to the very long waits for booking a specialist visit. Nowadays the doctor’s work is excessively bureaucratized and this results in a significant reduction in the time needed to visit the patient. In this regard, we are convinced that we need to optimize the working conditions of healthcare personnel, to achieve an improvement in healthcare, a reduction in workload with respect to bureaucracy for doctors and therefore better citizen satisfaction.
