Pesaro. BValcone di Casa Rossini, The barber of Seville on June 15th at 7pm.
A year-long concert, a project conceived by the Rossini Opera Festival on the occasion of Pesaro, Italian Capital of Culture 2024. Every Saturday the entire Rossini opera repertoire is performed with a special series of 39 concerts from the balcony of Gioachino Rossini’s birthplace, each dedicated to an opera by the composer from Pesaro, performed by former students of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”.
This time extracts from the Barber of Seville will be performed, the most popular opera in Rossini’s repertoire: a semi-serious drama in two acts with a libretto by Cesare Sterbini staged for the first time at the Teatro Valle in Rome on 26 December 1815.
The singers protagonists of the concert will be Anna-Doris Capitelli and Matteo Mancini, accompanied by the pianist Claudia Foresi. Matteo Mancini will sing Figaro’s Cavatina «Largo al factotum», while Anna-Doris Capitelli will interpret Rosina’s Cavatina «Una voci fa», Capitelli and mancini will close the concert with the Rosina-Figaro duet «Dunque io son… tu non m ‘deceptions?’
The project is carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Pesaro, the Pescheria Foundation, the Rossini Foundation and the G. Rossini Symphony Orchestra.
