Of particular importance on the first day of tomorrow, Friday 14 June, will be the conference ‘Guardians of land and sea: for a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature’ which will be held at Sun Space in via Sapri 68 starting from 5pm. ” is the key word with which Slow Food intends to highlight the close and indissoluble relationship that exists between nutrition and the protection of agricultural and marine resources.

In addition to the institutional representatives of the Liguria Region and the Municipality of La Spezia, speakers will include Sandra Ansaldo, President of the Condotta, Fabiana Brandino, head of institutional relations of Slow Food Italia, Chiara Lombardi, ENEA researcher, Nadia Maggioncalda of the Slow Food Community for the conservation and protection of fruits of the Gulf of La Spezia, Heydi Bonanini, representative of the Sciacchetrà Presidium and Simone Azaghi, representative of the Razza Cabannina Presidium. This will be followed at 9pm, again at the Sun Space, by a dinner organized by the chefs of the Slow Food Alliance network of the province of La Spezia, Andrea Besana, Simone Giampaoli and Simone Azaghi. The dinner will be accompanied by the wines of the Ca’ du Ferrà di Bonassola company of the Comunità del Ruzzese and those of the Possa company of Riomaggiore and the Cinque Terre del Groppo winery.

The following day, Saturday 15th, the topics discussed in the conference will be addressed from another point of view: the practical one of food culture and food preservation techniques. At 11am in the PIN Space the preliminary round of the 11th edition of the Mortar Pesto Championship, curated by Roberto Panizza, will be followed by ‘The flavors of basil in tasting’. In the afternoon from 4pm to 8.30pm the Slow Food La Spezia Golfo dei Poeti Conduct Space in Viale Mazzini hosts meetings and stories. Two workshops, open to the public – up to a maximum of twenty-five people – will allow you to learn the importance of stable meadows and the fight against food waste through the smoking technique. After the two workshops, the first at 5pm and the second at 6.30pm, both in the Spazio Pin, the day will end at 8pm with the presentation of a project of great value: the Sciacchetrà del Migrante, a training-work initiative aimed at young people migrants designed by Heydi Bonanini of the Possa Company.
